Oktopous™, ccXML Open Source PIK v1.1
Phonologies Oktopous™ PIK is an abstract, C++ implementation of the W3C Call Control XML (ccXML) standard. It is a "light-weight" toolkit, independent of the underlying telephony platform / protocols and is best suited for OEM customers / System Integrators looking to implement ccXML functionality in their product offerings.

Originally developed by Phonologies, Oktopous™ v1.1 has been adopted by more telephony platforms than any open source ccXML Browser.

Oktopous™ v1.1 powers over 50,000 calls daily

Architecture

Oktopous PIK is available as a modular C++ source code package that can be integrated with any telephony platform or API. The overall architecture of Oktopous™ is described in Oktopous Integration Guide, including the references for the API.

Oktopous™ handles document interpretation, requires engineering and testing inorder to be integrated into a telephony platform. It is a functional library capable of processing call control events, while all interaction with Media and Telephony resources are handled by the telephony platform or a subsystems Oktopous™ is integrated with.

Integrators may want to replace or enhance the Oktopous™ logging component to redirect messages to the platform's management components. Also note that Oktopous™ does not include tools for building ccXML applications or support for runtime debugging, at this time.

Oktopous™ Interpreter Package Contents

  • ccXML interpreter source
  • Oktopous™ interface headers
  • Reference implementations for the INET, ECMAScript
  • Sample ccXML application
  • GNU makefiles to build the source on Linux
  • Project source files and Pre-built binaries for Win32
